Jason EllisJason Ellis joined the Social Computing Group in 2003. His research interests include online communities, social software, social visualization, serious games, and activist technology. Recent projects include design and study of serious games in virtual worlds like Second Life, social visualization of open source projects, and studying the connection between incentive mechanisms and online community. Prior to joining the group, Jason was a student in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology where he completed his PhD in 2003. His advisor was Amy Bruckman. During his tenure at Georgia Tech, Jason also completed internships at IBM TJ Watson Research Center and Xerox Palo Alto Research Center. Prior to his tenure at Georgia Tech, he was a faculty researcher at the Human-Computer Interaction Lab at the University of Maryland, College Park.
